Opening Weekend with the Philadelphia Phillies

Opening day 2017.  Quite possibly the only sell out game the Phillies have all year.

Expectations are far from high this year but it’s still great to get to the ballpark and soak in the atmosphere.

Friday:  Opening Day vs The Washington Nationals (Loss)

We got to K-Lot at about 11am to start the celebrations and get ready for another season.  Although it was pretty cold and slightly raining it didn’t stop the hundreds of cars from piling in and partying with us.

The promo for this year was a pretty sick winter hat which came in handy for those who didn’t bring one already.

Saturday:  Opening Night vs The Washington Nationals (Win)

This night is always fun and become a bit of a tradition with my friends since it’s commonly fallen on a Saturday.  The Promo is usually a McDonalds sponsored t shirt that’s 5 sizes too large.

The real gift came in the first inning as the Phillies pounded 12 runs on the board, setting a franchise record.

Weather was warm the beers were cold.  Made for a perfect opening night.

Sunday: First afternoon game vs The Washington National.  (Win)

Sunday afternoon games are just fantastic and this was no different.  70 degrees and sunny.  Phillies got some early runs on the board and felt like they were Going to hold on to the win until Ryan Zimmerman belted a 3 run homer in the top of the 9th to tie the game.

I didn’t feel confident that we’d come back in the bottom of the 9th but I was totally wrong as Cesar Hernandez hit a game winning walk off single.
